We are pleased to announce that Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials Pony Club and Riding Club Team Eventer Challenge, will be returning once again this year. As a club we would like to send a team in the 90cm and or 100cm classes.

The Eventer Challenge is a ‘Derby’ style competition with a section of 8-10 show-jumps leading to 6-8 efforts over portable fixed cross-country fences and finishing over a Joker fence.  Water may be included.

 

100 cm –  SJ section – maximum height 1.05 m – maximum spread 1.55 m

               – XC section – maximum hight 1.05m – maximum spread 1.80 m

               – Overall speed 375 mpm.

 

90 cm   –   SJ section – maximum height 0. 95m – maximum spread 1.40m

              –   XC section – maximum height 0. 95m – maximum spread 1.50m

              –  Overall speed 360 mpm.

This is predominantly a Team Competition, however in the event of low entries we may open it for individuals to enter provided they meet the class criteria.

This competition is run in conjunction with BRC and PC rules.  Each Team Manager is responsible for ensuring that all team members are conversant with these and the following:

  1. No horse or rider combination may compete in more than one Eventer Challenge competition at the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials. You may only compete on 1 day.
  2. Horse/rider combinations must not have competed at either CIC3*, CCI3* or higher in the preceding 2 seasons.
  3. Each club may enter one team at each height but if the event is oversubscribed then we will ballot and entries will be limited to 1 team per club. Please state your preferred height at the entry stage.
  4. Horse/rider combinations must have completed two events competently at the following levels to be eligible. Spot checks will be conducted.

90cm : BE90, BRC HT 90, BRC AE 90, BRC CC90, PC 90. 

100cm : BE 100, BRC HT 100, BRC AE100, BRC CC100, PC 100

  1. All hats must be current standard and tagged with pink coloured hat tags.
  2. Cross Country colours or jackets should be worn. Back protectors are mandatory. No jewellery, watches or stopwatches allowed. No electronic recording devices are permitted on horse or rider
  3. All horses and pones must be 5 years of age or over and must be vaccinated against equine influenza. Passports must be available on request and spot checks may be carried out.  Vaccinations must be in accordance with PC & BRC rules as in current rulebooks.
  4. If a rider has a fall from their horse, they must be seen by one of the designated medical staff.
  5. The judges decision is final. They may disqualify any rider at any stage in the competition for dangerous riding, inappropriate behaviour or language, abuse of officials, misuse of whip or spurs, ill treatment of the horse or if in their opinion the horse is lame, sick or unfit to compete.
  6. There will be a prize for the highest placed registered ROR combination in each class.
  7. Prize giving will be mounted for the winning team and the highest placed ROR Horse/Rider combination. 2nd-6th placed teams will be on foot for 2nd-6th but in appropriate attire. This will take place in the arena as soon as possible after the competition has finished.  Please monitor the live scoreboard (on Eventing Scores) to ensure that you are ready in good time. 7th-10th placings and consolation rosettes can be collected from the Secretaries.
  8. The organising committee for this competition, reserves the right to make any changes/amendments to the competition.
  9. Each competitor must the a currently paid-up member of either British Riding Clubs or the Pony Club at the time of entry. Entries should be done via your Team Managers.
  10. All horses must display a competitor number whilst being ridden on the grounds.
