Course may be walked the day before the event between 2pm and 7pm or on the day.

 

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  1. YOUR SIGNATURE on the entry form shall be construed as acceptance of these rules
  2. ENTRIES made without the appropriate fee will not be accepted. No telephone entries.
  3. ENTRY FEES will only be returned on production of a current veterinary/doctor’s certificate. In the event of cancellation fees will be returned less £5per horse/pony to cover administration costs on receipt of a SAE within 14 days
  4. THE ORGANISERS reserve the right to cancel, add to or amend any of the classes they think fit, and refuse entry without stating a reason.
  5. BRC (British Riding Club) rules apply the decision of the judges and organisers is final.
  6. DECLARED ORDER competitors must compete in the order declared at the collecting ring. Any competitor not responding will be placed at the end of the class.
  7. STARTING if the judge is dissatisfied with the rate at which competitors present themselves he may issue a warning. At the end of a 3 minute interval he may issue a 2nd warning and after 3 minutes he may declare the class closed.
  8. HORSES/PONIES can be ridden only once in any one class and in no more than 2 classes. They must be 4 years or older and only those competing may be ridden on the showground
  9. NO COMPETITOR may practice over any part of the course. If seen doing so = elimination
  10. PRACTICE JUMPS must be jumped from the correct side, failure to do so may result in the competitor being eliminated. Similar action may be taken in the event of misuse of whips or equipment.
  11. HATS All riders MUST wear correctly fitted approved protective headgear conforming to ASTM, PAS 015, SEI, VGI or SNELL E 2001 carrying a BSI Kite mark which includes a retaining harness secured to the shell at more than 2 points and with NO fixed peak. Headgear must be worn and correctly fastened at all times when mounted.
  12. BODY PROTECTORS ARE COMPULSORY and Medical Armbands are recommended. Correct riding dress must be worn cross country colours are allowed.
  13. PLEASE SUPPLY YOUR OWN BIB AND PRINT OUT YOUR OWN NUMBER
  14. ELIMINATION Three refusals at one fence. Any competitor must leave at a walk immediately. GIVE WAY Any competitor in difficulty at a fence MUST make way for following competitors who wish to overtake.
  15. NO HORSE OR PONY to be left unattended unless secured inside lorry/trailer.
  16. RESPECT the show ground Please do not skip out lorries/trailers onto the park.
  17. DOGS must be kept on leads at all times.
  18. ANY OBJECTION accompanied by a deposit of £20 must be made in writing to the secretary within 15 minutes of the incident, the deposit will be forfeited if the objection is not sustained.
  19. ANY NON BRC MEMBERS RIDING, HANDLING OR RESPONSIBLE FOR A HORSE AT A BRC EVENT MUST HAVE THEIR OWN THIRD PARTY INSURANCE
  20. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Organisers or landowners shall not be liable for any claim for loss or damage to competitors/onlookers/their servants/horses/other animals/vehicles/equipment or any other item in connection with the show or on the showground, however caused. Competitors are to satisfy themselves that they have assessed the risk factor in competing and it is a condition of entry that each participant will satisfy themselves as to their own ability to ride safely and indemnify the organisers against any accident or loss however caused
  21. HEALTH AND SAFETY Reasonable precautions will be taken to ensure the health and safety of all persons present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and obey the instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards.
