British Horse Feeds’ Club Endurance Team Championship

The British Horse Feeds’ Club Endurance Team Championship is open to all Riding amd Pony Clubs in England, Wales and Scotland and riders registered with Retraining of Racehorses (regarded as a Club). A Club can enter any number of teams of three to six riders. Each Club can then enter their teams into any number of qualifying rides of 20 to 29km for the Tier 1 competition or 30 to 40km for the Tier 2 competition. A Club can compete in both Tiers if they so choose. Qualifying rides are Endurance GB and SERC competitions.

Riders do not need any special equipment, or particular breed / type of horse to get started. Only the rider, their horse and normal riding tack is required. If a horse and rider are fit enough to complete a 10–15-mile fun ride in a reasonable time then they are fit enough for the Tier 1 Championship.

A team who successfully completes a qualifying ride will have its team score entered into a League Table for the Region in which their Club is based. There is a total of ten Regions, one for each part of the country. A squad can then, if it chooses, enter further qualifying rides. The highest team score achieved over the season is the one used in the League Table for the final

The team scores are calculated from the speed achieved over the course and the horse’s pulse at the end of the ride. The top team in each of the ten League Tables for each Tier will go forward to compete in the Championship Final for that Tier along with the next 10 highest scoring teams across all the Leagues. The Final will be held at The Red Dragon Festival of Endurance at the Royal Welsh Showground on Sunday 2nd October 2022. Stabling, corralling, camping, lorry parking, trade stands and refreshments will be available at the venue.
