At the end of September Teresa Lavender, Amelia Ward, Janet Colenutt, David Ware and Lorna Tullet travelled to Aston-le Walls for the Combined Championships. As Aston no longer offer temporary stabling they found a lovely local yard just 10 minutes away to accommodate their horses. On arrival at the yard they were greeted by 2 donkeys who were very vocal and were of real interest to our horses. We set up camp in the yard with our horses and David cooked a lovely chilli dinner. Thank you David it was really appreciated.
As they all competed at different levels their times were spread throughout both days and it was like a conveyor belt of horses being transported to and from the showground.
Amelia was the first to go in the team and rode a lovely test albeit her marks were rather harsh but still went onto to jump a good clear round. Teresa and Alfie were up next with a good dressage score and then also went clear finishing 5th in their section. Janet was last to go for the team also doing a good test but unfortunately picked up a few penalties in the show jumping. The team finished of only 3 finished 13th out of 36.
Amelia also rode as an individual in another class and finished on her dressage score of 27.4 to win!
Well done everyone!
