We have been fortunate and enjoyed success with our teams at both Area and National level competitions. Whether at dressage, show jumping, horse trials or even fun quizes, members love the opportunity to represent the club, the team spirit and support from everyone.

If you’d like to join our teams (at any level), we want to hear from you now! New members are very welcome and we try to get everyone involved. Our aim is to have a fun day with good team spirit, and hopefully, we will get some encouraging results as well!

What You Need To Do

  1. Please ensure you are a fully paid up HDRC member, your membership details are up to date, including "ticking" the "team" interests box, and completing the level you and your horse are working at, including any affiliated winning or points with  BD, BS, BE. You will also need to regularly update your winnings - points and £'s - if you are out competing.
  2. This membership information helps us match you to the correct team, but it is ultimately YOUR responsibility to ensure you and your horse are eligible for any particular team so please check with Appendix 2 and 3 of the rule book in the British Riding Clubs (BRC) website www.bhs.org.uk/enjoy-riding/british-riding-clubs/brc-rulebook. BRC also allow you to downgrade your horse's winnings in some instances. If you are interested in doing this please see the BRC website above and and obtain a copy of the "downgrading  form" asap or speak to your Chef D'Equipe.
  3. Please make a note in your diaries of the dates of the Qualifiers and Championships (which are on this website and in your newsletters) and do keep these dates free!
  4. Finally, please help us to help you, by ensuring your horses vaccinations are up to date. It must also be taken into account that horses may be tested for use of any banned drugs such as bute so please check what's in any additives you may be feeding. See BRC website rule book (see website link above) appendix 23

What We Do

Our Chef d’Equipes liaise with you putting in all the entries for qualifiers and championships should you be successful. Entries for the qualifiers need to be with BRC Head Office 21 days before the competition. We are there on the day with you and support you all the way, even supplying and laundering your club numnahs and XC sweatshirts!

Teams Finance Policy

Members will need to pay their entry fee for the qualifier and the Club funds all team entry fees plus 1 nights stabling at championships(competitors are responsible for their own travel costs). All we ask is that you give some of your time to help at events, and when you are contacted, you return our calls ASAP so we can ensure we get the teams lists out in good time!
