Horsham also had a junior team entered in the Junior Qualifier Competition.

Following on from our very wet, albeit successful, team showjumping event last Sunday, it was such a relief to wake up to a dry and relatively sunny day  at Royal Leisure today.  Our dressage team consisted of Charlotte Exley-Edwards and Elise Gayler, together with two relatively new members to the Riding Club making their debut appearance in teams, Emily Watson and Lauren Roche.  Elise and Lauren both rode the Prelim 13 test in the morning, taking 1st and 4th place .  But it was very tight and we were level pegging with Goring juniors. So it was down to Charlotte and Emily to produce good  novice tests in order for us take 1st Team place.   Charlotte was to ride first and looked absolutely stunning, riding what appeared to be a faultless test, with the help of us all on the sidelines, Karen, Max,  Elise, Caroline and myself (I’m sure we made all the difference!!).  Next it was the turn of Emily and her lovely coloured pony, Prince, who again produced what appeared to be a faultless test.   The marks were coming in pretty fast and so it was not long before the results were up.    Charlotte had taken 1st place with an amazing 69.58% - really well deserved and I think a personal best for Charlotte!! Very well done Charlotte and not too far behind in 2nd place was Emily with 65.83%.  Enough to give Horsham a clear lead and take 1st place overall and qualify for the BRC Winter Junior Championships at Hartpury at Easter.
Good luck girls at Hartpury and have a great weekend – you all deserve it!!
