Helen Millichamp - Dressage Diva

We are extremely lucky at Horsham RC to have some very talented riders and Helen Millichamp is one of them having a marvellous year on her rides. Not only did she manage to retain her win at Swalcliffe in the 100+ BRC Horse Trials Championship she also bettered it by being the overall winner on Julian Thorpe's super horse Feach Ger Boy.

Helen has been bringing on her own young horse that she bought as a 3 year old, Jalado's Star or more fondly known as Thelma. Thelma is proving to be a dressage star and has had an incredible first year competing in British Dressage. They were part of the Southern Team that won the BD Senior Inter Regionals in May, they won the Preliminary at the Hickstead Summer Regionals and were picked again to represent the Southern Team at the BD Senior Home International Championships gaining an individual 3rd place against very strong competition.

Ruth Starey passes her BHS Senior Equitation and Senior Coaching assessments

Huge Congratulations to Horsham & District RC's member Ruth Starey for passing her British Horse Society Senior Equitation and Senior Coaching assessments.

Ruth runs a small livery yard and competes her horses to different levels including BS foxhunter and BE novice and is hoping to progress two to intermediate level as soon as the weather permits. Ruth has regularly represented Horsham at Riding Club Championships over the past years all on horses she produces herself. Ruth is inspired through her passion to learn and to push herself to new levels and will be hoping to take her stable managers assessment soon. She loves to teach and see people progress, this brings Ruth a lot of joy.

Ruth is not just content to be a succesful rider and coach she is also a qualified Equine Body Worker. An Equine Sports Massage has proved to have many benefits for your horse including improved gait and mobility, improved circulation, relief of tension and much more.

If you would like to have a lesson with Ruth or discuss the benefit of a sports massage for your horse contact her on 07708 066089 or email rseventing@gmail.com

Congratulations

The committee would like to wish AJ and Richard congratulations on the birth of their son Alfie in March.

As you can see from this picture AJ is having a wonderful time being a mother but it means that sadly we are losing her as a committee member, although thankfully not from HDRC completely. Her energy, enthusiasm, IT knowledge and great sense of humour will be greatly missed by the committee. This means that we have a position available to fill. If any members are interested in joining our lively group please contact any committee to find out what's involved.
