Training Update

Dear All,

I have had a meeting with Ken and come up with a few dates.

With regard to flat he is happy to teach pairs or individuals, the cost would be £40 a session, so £20 if shared.  I am happy to liaise with him if you want to brush up on the flat but I have reserved the following dates with him for Show jumping courses and Xc.

As you know with Ken he will go up or down in height so everyone get something out of if but smaller jumpers would be starting 65/70cm working up towards 90cm. Bigger jumpers happy to go straight in at 90cm and work up.

Saturday 2nd March  1pm   Smaller jumpers
                                   3pm  Bigger jumpers

Saturday  16th March  1pm  Smaller Jumpers
                                     3pm  Bigger jumpers

Thursday 21st March  1pm  Mixed

Saturday 30th March.    1pm  Smaller jumpers
                                       3pm  Bigger jumpers

Saturday 13th April   2pm  Coombelands smaller
                                     3pm  Coombelands Bigger

Wednesday 17th April  1.30pm  XC Tweseldown  (1 ½ hours)

Saturday 27th April  12 noon XC Tweseldown (more than 1 group if needed) 1 ½ hours

Wednesday 8th May  6pm  Mixed SJ

Thursday 16th May  6pm  XC Schooling Coombelands (mixed)

All dates are at Ken’s yard in Coolham unless otherwise stated.

Smaller jumpers Xc Schooling can be arranged at Petworth Schooling Course one evening when weather better.

Ideally 4 horses per session at Ken’s £15 per session

Everywhere else £15 for ken plus facility hire, I am trying to negotiate a discount for riding clubs and also ask area 13 for some money from training budget, to get that up need  to open it up to other clubs so want to see our up take first.

Please can you let me know which sessions you would like to come to.

Ken is busy, he can fill his days with lessons easily and I DO NOT want to mess him about, if we do not have enough people to fill the sessions 2 weeks prior to the session then I will cancel it, so he can re fill the slot.

Please can you indicate if you are interested in the Coombelands and Tweseldown dates so I can pre book the slots.

If you would like to chat please call me on 07769675432.

But let me know ASAP re early March dates as I am away from the 15th.

Thank you

Michelle

BRC Volunteers League 2019

After the success of the 2018 Volunteers'League, BRC are delighted to enter its second year. There have been a few tweaks to the format following feedback. There will still be three leagues but they will be as follows.

Club League

Clun level will be for volunteers who help at club activities run under BRC rules. Aimed at dressage writers, flu vac checkers etc. Those volunteering as part of their committee role will need to use the Committee League.

Area League

Area level will be for volunteers who help at area activities run under BRC rules. Aimes at dressage writers, stewards, flu vac checkers etc. Can also include team volunteers where a club is required as part of entry to send a volunteer. Those volunteering as part of their committee role will need to use the Committee League.

Committee/Official League

The Committee League is open to all volunteer committee members, whether they are on club or area committees, official stewards, area representatives or organising committees. Although this league will be as a whole, where a volunteer is on more than one of the above for example an area committee and an official steward points will be gained seperately so would be on the league twice.

The league will commence on 1st January and will finish on 31st October 2019. Points cards will need to be posted or emailed to BRC by the 7th day of every month.

2019 BRC Five Star Train Together Tour

BRC FIVE STAR TRAIN TOGETHER TOUR…

Following last year’s highly successful grassroots Dressage training, BRC have once again teamed up with world class instructors, this time giving our members tuition in the Show Jumping discipline. Instructors include: Islay Auty FBHS, Jo Winfield FBHS and International Eventer Clare Chamberlayne.

Professional advice will also be given to the riders with two thirty minute talks, talking about the importance of clean sport and nutrition with NAF and the Worshipful Company of Saddlers will also be attending talking about tack.

The aim of these training days is to encourage our grassroots rider and to give them the confidence to move up the levels and eventually compete at our qualifiers and hopefully championships!

There will be four levels across the day.

Group 1 level 1: Introduction to jumping and pole work.

Group 2 Level 2: 60cm-70cm- Jumping single jumps and short courses at home

Group 3 Level 3: 70cm-80cm- Wanting/aiming to compete at an area qualifier

Group 4 Level 4: 80-90cm- Have competed at a qualifier/BRC championship but not in the last 12 months

The training is great value at £20-25 per session (see below for price in each area)
Riders can book to attend any training session in any Area.

BRC Grassroots Points League

The Grassroots Points League is a new opportunity for all BRC Members

All dressage (Walk and Trot and Prelim Level) and showjumping (60cms and 70cms) competitors can gain points at BRC Club organised competitions. Area Qualifiers and National level competitions will not count.

Points can be gained when competing at BRC Club organised competitions only.

There will be two separate leagues; Show Jumping and Dressage. Monthly score updates will be provided; therefore competitors must return their score card to the BRC head office no later than the 7th of the following month. Results on cards received after this time will not count. The competition will run for ten months from January – October 2019, there will be rosettes down to 10th place.

It's so simple, just follow these easy steps:

1. Download and print your blank points card from the BRC website.
2. Compete at any dressage (Walk & Trot and Prelim Level) or showjumping (60cms & 70cms) BRC Club organised competition.
3. Ask the Secretary at the event to confirm your placing with their signature.
4. Post your completed points card back to BRC HQ by the 7th of the following month.
5. Finally, wait for the results.

The rules

The Grassroots Points League will run according to the official BRC rules found in the current BRC Rule Book p 84- 85.

1. Individuals can compete in both dressage (Walk and Trot and Prelim Level) and showjumping (60cms and 70cms) competitions. Both disciplines will count towards the league.
2. It is the individuals’ responsibility to download and print this card and produce it at every relevant competition to gain the signature of the Secretary upon being placed.
3. The Grassroots Points League takes place between 1 January - 31 October 2019. Completed points cards must be returned to BRC Head Office no later than the 7th of the following month. Results on cards received after this time will not count.
4. Checks will be carried out by BRC HQ to ensure that the information provided is correct.
5. Individuals can compete at club and area level. However a qualifying class for a BRC Championship may not be used to gain points for this league.
6. Individuals can compete across all clubs and areas.
7. If the card is not filled out correctly, the results will not be counted.
